In 1860, a bunch of outlaws was fighting against the unification of Italy.

Men bound for changing history, then forgotten. Until today.

In the increasingly difficult situation Italy is facing in mid 19th century, one man had the courage to speak while everybody else was keeping its mouth shut. 27 years old Terenzio Grossi can’t stand the ever increasing taxes, mandatory draft and oppression by the Piedmontese State and wants his chance to fight against a future that someone else has already written for him. He then shoulders his musket and manages to gather around him a small gang of young rebels.

Disillusioned with politics, hungered by ever-increasing taxes and unwilling to participate to mandatory draft by the army, the gang will seize the Pesaro and Urbino Province with the help of a growingly restless and angry population.

The Gang Members

They were outlaws to some, heroes to others. Together to make history.

Desperados, outlaws, wretches: those were they names they used used for the members of the Grossi Gang.

A group of delinquents that sent sent shivers down Public Officers’ and Royal Carabinieri’s spine, they managed to plunder Central Italy while the country was being unified under one unique flag.

For others, instead, the Grossi Gang was so much more: led by a young rebel they were heroes of the lost cause, opposing a strong resistance to the Northern oppressor.

Men of valor who were fighting to reinstate the long gone, Romantic old days of what once was their homeland. Men bound for changing history, later forgotten.
